Welcome to Sarah's Den, a non-profit organization inspired by the memory of a remarkable woman, Sarah Lee Pulliam. A Legacy of Warmth and Welcome If you knew our grandmother, you knew her home. It was a haven – a place where everyone felt welcome, loved, and supported. You could always count on a hot meal, a kind word, a shared laugh, and a genuine sense of community. Carrying the Torch At Sarah's Den, we're committed to honoring that legacy. We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Our non-profit, The Unique Resource Center (URC), operates right here, offering a range of services designed to empower individuals and families: Emergency Food Pantry: Provides vital assistance to those facing food insecurity. Employment Services: Equips individuals with the skills and resources needed to find and maintain employment. Empowering the Underemployed At Sarah's Den, we are on a mission to serve the homeless community in Richmond by providing them with essential clothing items through our Clothes Giveaways. But that's not all we do. We also have a retail store where we sell donated items. What sets us apart is our focus on hiring the underemployed or those with limited experience. Our goal is to not only provide job opportunities but also to empower our employees and volunteers. We offer training programs to help them build their resumes, gain valuable work experience, and develop skills that will lead them to independence. Our Certified Employment Specialists work closely with each employee and/or volunteer to help them achieve their career goals and transition to their next position or career. Monthly Community Outreach Event
Join us on the 1st Saturday of every month for our community outreach event! Each month, we serve the homeless on Serve Day, which is held on the first Saturday of every month. We feed those in need. We are dedicated to providing hot meals, free clothing, and encouragement to anyone in need. Our team serves an average of 160 to 180 meals each month and disperses 225 items of clothing, including women's, men's, and children's clothing and shoes. We also provide essential household and toiletry items to those in need. Your financial support directly contributes to our staff's programming, training, and payroll, allowing us to continue giving second chances to members of our community. We are committed to making a positive impact and appreciate any contributions to our cause. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.
